About the guide

How we list vendors.

Mexico Wedding Vendors is an independent, English-language guide to wedding, elopement and proposal vendors in nine Mexican destinations. Here is where the information comes from, how the order works, and who runs it.

Where listings come from

Every listing starts from public business information: the name, address, phone, website, Google rating and number of Google reviews. Each profile shows its source and the date we last checked it. We do not write reviews or invent ratings; the stars you see are Google's, linked so you can read the reviews yourself.

Claimed profiles

Vendors can claim their profile to add a description in their own words, the languages they work in, and photos. Claimed profiles are marked “Claimed by the vendor”. Photos only appear on claimed profiles, so every image on the site was shared by the business itself.

How the order works

Premium vendors appear first, in a different order on every visit, and every Premium listing is labeled. After them come claimed profiles, then the rest. Within each group, vendors are ranked by a score that is the same rule for everyone: the Google rating weighted by the number of reviews (so a 5.0 from three reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from four hundred), plus a boost for vendors who reply quickly to quote requests on this site. That score is never sold. You can also re-sort any list by Google rating or by number of reviews.

Who runs it

Mexico Wedding Vendors is run by David Josué, a wedding photographer based in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California. His own photography business is listed in the directory as a Premium listing, which he does not pay for because he owns the site; it follows the same ordering rules as every other Premium listing.
